2nd International Paulo Freire Conference

‘Education is an act of love and thus an act of courage’ – Paulo Freire

Tuesday 5th September to Thursday 7th September 2017
the University of Central Lancashire’s Cyprus Campus, Pyla, Larnaca, Cyprus

We invite you to join us in Cyprus for the second International Paulo Freire Conference organized by the Freire Institute and the University of Central Lancashire’s Centre for Volunteering and Community Leadership. The conference will be on the theme of 'Education and Transformative Practice' and will include the following sub-themes:

● Education with Migrant and Transient Communities

● Gender and Education

● Popular Education Theory and Practice

● Education and Development

● Social Media, Technology and Culture

● Inequality and the Commodification of Education

We will be joined by Professor Ana Maria Freire (Nita Freire).

The conference booking fee includes two nights accommodation as well as the conference dinner on the evening of Tuesday, 5 September. We can provide you with information on accommodation should you wish to extend your stay.
