Car Parking - Student Information and Advice
Student Car Parking information and Charges
2011/12
Are you eligible for a Car Parking Permit?
Read on to find out!
Please note
-
Student living in University accommodation on Preston campus will not be eligible to obtain a daytime parking permit unless they hold a Blue Badge.
-
All students are however eligible for a ‘weekends and evenings’ Permit – see details below.
-
No students living less than 90 minutes away from central campus (by public transport) will be eligible for a permit under normal circumstances.
- Postcodes will be checked electronically against a local route map. (You can check your eligibility using the Traveline website; your journey should confirm that it would take more than 90 minutes in order to arrive at 'PR1 2HE' for 9am, weekdays)
-
The exceptions are Blue Badge holders who will automatically be eligible for a University Priority Permit free of charge.
-
Students with a certified mobility problem, qualified by a Doctors letter, will be considered for a Priority Permit at the discretion of the Transport Services Manager.
-
Students with specific course requirements (for example placement based courses), which require private transport to be kept on campus will be considered at the discretion of the Transport Services Manager on the production of the relevant proof of extenuating circumstances.
-
All decisions of the Transport Services Manager on Permit allocation to individuals are final.
-
Permits are strictly controlled due to the limited space available on campus. Permits are therefore allocated on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.
-
For all Permit applications, a completed University Permit application form, a copy of your confirmation email from Online Enrolment and a copy of your academic timetable must be produced.
Timetables are available from your Schools Office
