Due to several large outbreaks of measles we strongly advise to ensure both your MMR and Meningitis ACWY vaccinations are up to date before you begin university. Measles is caused by a very infectious virus and can cause rashes, high fevers and can lead to very serious complications in adults. Untreated meningitis can cause life-threatening blood poisoning and result in permanent damage to the brain or nerves. If you have any queries regarding your vaccinations, you should contact your local GP surgery and arrange an appointment.
Great news - if you’ve already completed the above steps then you’re almost ready to start #TheUCLanExperience.
