A warm welcome to the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan). Whether you’re a returning student or new to the university, it’s never too early to start planning for your arrival. The information on the next few pages will introduce you to the university and help you start planning for your arrival at our Preston Campus.
Start off by checking out if you're eligible for a postgraduate loan. If you're studying full time, and this is your first PG course, it's likely you'll be eligible for a loan of up to £10280 to help pay your fees and living costs. The earlier you apply the sooner you'll have your loan, so if you haven't applied yet visit Student Finance to get started. If you need any help or advice, our Student Finance Support Team is just a phonecall away on 01772 892583.
Something else you can organise right now is a bank account that your postgraduate loan can be paid into directly. Be sure to shop around and ask about student bank account benefits. Even if you've already got a bank account you should check that you can convert it so you don't miss out on any free gifts and good deals.
If you need a letter that confirms you're studying with us, please use our online request service.

Due to several large outbreaks of measles we strongly advise to ensure both your MMR and Meningitis ACWY vaccinations are up to date before you begin university. Measles is caused by a very infectious virus and can cause rashes, high fevers and can lead to very serious complications in adults. Untreated meningitis can cause life-threatening blood poisoning and result in permanent damage to the brain or nerves. Contact your local GP surgery and arrange an appointment.
Great news - if you’ve already completed the above steps then you’re almost ready to start #TheUCLanExperience.
